"Drunk in the Spirit" is not supported by Acts 2 — the mockers said they were drunk because they couldn't understand the foreign languages
Bonus note during Acts 2 discussion on the misuse of Acts 2:13 to justify charismatic "drunk in the Spirit" practices.
Acts 2:13 records mockers saying "they are filled with new wine." Scripture never says the apostles looked drunk. The mockery arose because those who didn't know the languages heard unintelligible speech and dismissed it. Mike rejects the interpretation that this validates contemporary practices of acting drunk in worship services.
