Releasing healing into the atmosphere -- unbiblical charismatic terminology rooted in crowd control rather than Scripture
Question from John Richardson about the biblical basis for Christians releasing healing into the atmosphere.
Mike finds no scriptural basis for this phrase. He connects it to Benny Hinn's explicit teaching on atmosphere/crowd control -- Hinn deliberately packs front rows with ecstatic believers for camera effect. The phrase creates vague, unverifiable and unfalsifiable healing claims. Contrasted with Jesus's healing ministry which was person-specific and verifiable. Luke 5:17 ('the power of the Lord was present to heal') is the closest parallel -- but the power was in Christ, not in an atmospheric release. Mike advises John not to leave his church over it, but to maintain discernment.
