Advice to someone whose church is becoming hyper-charismatic: leave, if you must, without bitterness, motivated only by principle and love.

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 21) 01:08:19 – 01:09:54

Question from Jay Parker about whether to leave a church moving toward hyper-charismaticism after elders dismissed critique of the Passion Translation as nitpicking.

Mike expresses shock that critique of the Passion Translation is dismissed as nitpicking. He declines to give a definitive answer about leaving because he does not know the person's full situation. His counsel: if departure is necessary, it must be motivated by principled service to the Lord, not fleshly bitterness or anger. Galatians 5 is alluded to — walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Do not gossip or slander on the way out; even public critique (if warranted) must come from a clean heart.
