Why far more demonic activity in the NT than OT — quantity and intentionality

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 23) 00:05:37 – 00:07:09

Even granting OT demonic activity, the sheer volume of exorcisms in the Gospels and Acts is historically anomalous and must be explained theologically.

Mike argues the difference in quantity between OT and NT demonic activity is too large to be coincidental. His thesis: the dramatic spike in the first century was intentional. Since that period, Christians do not generally see anywhere near that level of demonic possession activity. This implies the first-century concentration was unique and purposive.
