Romans 11:25-32 — partial hardening of Israel, fullness of the Gentiles, and end-times caution

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 24) 00:13:36 – 00:18:08

Trevor T asks about Romans 11:25-32 and whether the rising number of Messianic Jews in Israel signals prophetic fulfillment.

Romans 11:25: partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. Not total hardening — Paul and most original disciples were Jewish. After the Gentiles' fullness, all Israel will be saved (v.26); the Deliverer will come from Zion and banish ungodliness from Jacob. Mike notes record numbers of Jews coming to Christ today and affirms that believing Jews are more Jewish than ever since they are coming to their own Messiah. However, Mike urges humility: it may be a genuine shift toward prophetic fulfillment or merely a bump. He warns against the consistent historical mistake of pinning end-times fulfillment to events within a few years of one's current date (e.g., Gog/Magog/Rosh interpreted as Cold War nations in the 1970s). Verse 32: God has consigned all to disobedience that he might have mercy on all.
