Craig Blomberg's refutation: 'heis' (one) does not mean 'equal in all respects'
Mike uses Blomberg's analysis to defeat the argument that 'one' means total equality.
Craig Blomberg argues: (1) To conclude from this one programmatic statement that Paul could not have imagined any role differentiation 'simply violates the standard canons of logic.' (2) The Greek word 'heis' (one) does not mean 'equal in all respects' in any of its 344 NT usages. (3) 'Equal' is not even a definition found in standard Greek lexicons for this word. Equality may be suggested in certain contexts, but one must not infer more about the kind of equality than each context warrants. Mike calls this approach 'pulling the Greek over your eyes.'
