1 Peter 3 proves full heirship status with continued role distinctions
Mike uses 1 Peter 3 as a decisive counter-example to the egalitarian reading.
1 Peter 3:1 calls wives to be subject to their husbands, even unbelieving ones. 1 Peter 3:5 says holy women 'adorned themselves by submitting to their own husbands' and Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. Yet 1 Peter 3:7 tells husbands to live with their wives in an understanding way, 'showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life.' The phrase 'heirs with you' explicitly affirms full heirship while simultaneously affirming role distinctions (submission). Peter sees no contradiction — role differences do not violate equality in Christ.
