Revisiting Westfall and F.F. Bruce quotes on Galatians 3:28 as an interpretive override

Westfall: Galatians 3:28 'overrides certain theological constructs about the significance of what is differentiated in creation and negates the assumed correlation between various functions in the church and gender roles.' F.F. Bruce: 'Paul states the basic principle here; if restrictions on it are found elsewhere in the Pauline corpus (1 Corinthians 14, 1 Timothy 2:11), they are to be understood in relation to Galatians 3:28, not vice versa.' Mike sees this as the passage being transformed from teaching about being in Christ to an overarching rule for all gender issues in church government.
