Mark 11 uses active verbs for the human part (believe, pray, ask) and passive for God's part ("it will be granted"). This means the power source is God, not you. This refutes the Word of Faith claim that "your words have power" — two people declaring the same thing in faith have the same zero power in their words; only God's response matters. Mark 11:25 adds forgiveness as prerequisite: "whenever you stand praying, forgive." Reinforced by Matthew 6:12-14 (Lord's Prayer), Matthew 5:23-24 (leave your offering and be reconciled first), and 1 Peter 3:7 (husbands mistreating wives will have hindered prayers). Unforgiveness creates a real barrier to answered prayer. Practical implication: stop cutting people out of your life; pursue reconciliation.
