Step 1: Household codes were central to Roman culture (true but universal). Step 2: Foreign religions MIGHT have been accused of violating those codes (big maybe -- few actual examples). Step 3: Some groups MIGHT have written household codes defensively (bigger maybe). Step 4: Maybe that's what Paul did in Ephesians.
