Keener offers two options: (1) kephale only means source, carrying no authority connotation -- Eve was made from Adam, so Adam is her source. If source, it's transcultural. (2) If kephale does imply authority, it's only cultural authority not something Paul is teaching but dealing with. In either case, no permanent male authority is being established.
