Philip Payne interprets katakalupto differently for men vs. women -- same word, contradictory meanings

All The Head Covering Debates (1 Cor 11): Women in Ministry part 10 02:20:55 – 02:22:57

Mike delivers what he considers a decisive critique of the hair-up view.

In verse 6, katakalupto for a woman means 'hair done up' (she's covered). In verse 7, the same word for a man means 'long hair' (he's covered). So a man with long hair hanging down is 'covered,' but a woman with identical hair is 'uncovered.' This is literally the same Greek word interpreted two contradictory ways. The consistent interpretation: it means cloth covering all three times.
