gengwall,
You asked:
I think I need to rephrase a question of mine to Cheryl from an earlier time but in light of the discussion. Do you believe Eve was incapable of sin outside of an circumstance of deception? In other words, do you believe that it was impossible for Eve to deliberately sin in the manner that Adam did?
Neither Adam or Eve was incapable of sin, however sin would not happen to either without either deception or rebellion. Adam fell through rebellion and Eve fell through deception.
If so, I must conclude that you believe she had a different “nature” than Adam even pre-fall, since it is clear that it was not impossible for him to deliberately sin.
Adam and Eve did not have a different nature pre-fall. However the choice to sin with one’s eyes wide open to the full knowledge of what you are doing in rebellion against God has a tragic consequence and that is a change in nature. When Adam sinned his nature changed from one capable of sin to one bent on sin with a full enslavement to sin.
