He used to call the children “stupid idiot!” and “if you had a brain it’s be lonely!”. When we got into marriage counseling, he changed it to “you’re ACTING like an idiot” and somehow thought that made it “right”. 🙁

Shake the dust off your feet.
If he has a wife and children pray for them.
I’m sure you are not his only target!
FWIW, I don’t agree that YOU should apologize.
I went to therapy for 3 years. One time he told me the way he can tell I’m still a victim is that I apologize when I didn’t do anything wrong. Apologizing to a bully enables them, makes them believe they are right.

Here is a prayer which I used from time to time.
If its good enough for Paul, its good enough for me 🙂
