Obviously Paul is referring to “wives” not women as a whole, since many women preached and taught the word. They were to ask their “husbands at home” The very first preacher was a woman when Jesus told Mary to tell his disciples he was alive.
The women he is referring to here was “wives”, in that they were not to disrupt the services by asking their husbands while the service was going on.
