I should add that if we replace “God” with “the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit” we can get a good idea of whether or not the passage means that. We will get the sense of whether that is what the passage means. So when Thomas said to Jesus, “My Lord and My Father, Son and Holy Spirit”, we can understand that this is not what He meant. He meant the essence of who God is, but not confusing the persons as all the same as the Son.
