Is this still an issue? What the **** is wrong with people? This is not 2000 years ago, and we are not nomadic shepherds living in Judah! Women and children as chattels went out the window last century, yet otherwise normal people keep trying to set back the clock. Folks, the time of Jesus of Nazareth was NOT better than now, or HOLIER, and God is still at work in the world. The Bible is not the last word of God; the last word has yet to be written. But we will never know as long as we keep trying to mold everything into Old Testament terms. God continually speaks to us and in extremely unlikely ways.
