I agree. This verse is not saying male and female are “equal” in Christ.
I now believe this verse says, male and female “do not exist” in Christ.”
We are all “one.”

Now, what does “one” mean? 😉

“Ga 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek,
there is neither bond nor free,
there is neither male nor female:
for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
