@ymmotrojam @MattSmethurst A verse taken out of its context is a pretext for a proof text. Paul’s stated purpose was for Timothy to instruct certain people not to teach strange doctrines. The idea of stopping anyone from teaching truth to anyone was not Paul’s purpose.
