@thecrazypastor @ronhenzel The only view that makes sense of this text is Paul quoting from the letter from the Corinthians (see 1Co 7:1)⎯this is for the reasons you noted. There is no such law which could ever be reasonably interpreted to suggest that women should be silent in any gathering.
