@ronhenzel Paul literally says in the next chapter to *earnestly desire* to prophesy and to *not forbid* speaking in tongues—both are in the imperative. "Therefore, my brothers and sisters, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues." (1Co 14:39)
