συμφέρον ("what is beneficial") describes the communal purpose of every spiritual gift in 1 Corinthians 12:7 — the Spirit distributes gifts for the benefit of the whole assembled community, not for any individual or gender-group. This undermines any framework that restricts gift-use by gender.
