James 1:16-17

James warns: "Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow" (vv.16-17). God does not give a gift and then prohibit its use — there is "no variation" in his character. If the Holy Spirit distributes a teaching gift to a woman (1 Cor 12:11), it is a good and perfect gift from above. The suggestion that God gifts women to teach but restricts the audience contradicts James's theology of divine generosity. God gives freely, without variation, without shadow of turning.
