The refutation view creates internally contradictory beliefs about the Corinthians

Mike argues the refutation view requires believing contradictory things about Corinthian church practice simultaneously.

The refutation view requires simultaneously believing: (1) The Corinthians taught women should be utterly silent in church; (2) They had women prophesying and praying publicly without head coverings (1 Cor 11); (3) They had generally disordered services where anyone could bring a tongue, prophecy, or word. These three conditions are mutually contradictory -- you cannot have women being silenced while also having women prophesying uncovered and chaotic open participation.
