The education view provides a good explanation for verse 35 ('if there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home'). Under this view, Paul is not saying it is shameful for women to speak in church; rather, it is shameful for uninformed people to ask disruptive questions. Women should ask their husbands (who had more educational exposure) in a private setting instead of disrupting the public meeting.
