Problem with the education view: women were not so education-deprived in Christian context
Mike challenges the assumption that Corinthian women were significantly less educated than men in matters relevant to church.
Key arguments: (1) The Corinthian church was largely Gentile (1 Cor 12:2), so men and women had similar Greco-Roman basic education. (2) Churches did not teach general education but Christian/apostolic doctrine and OT scripture. (3) A newly saved pagan couple both enter church equally uneducated in Christian doctrine. (4) The man's philosophy education has no advantage for learning the gospel. (5) Examples like Mary sitting at Jesus' feet and Priscilla teaching Apollos show women received the same Christian education as men.
