Education View Hinge 3: Why is submission an issue if it is about education?

5 Views on “Women Keep Silent" (1 Cor 14_35-36): Women in Ministry part 11 01:53:44 – 01:56:46

Mike identifies the fatal disconnect between the education view and Paul's mention of submission.

Verse 34 connects the silence command to submission ('should be in submission as the law also says'). The education view explains the 'asking questions' element well, but cannot explain why uninformed questions threaten submission or why Paul invokes gender-based submission and creation order principles. Asking uninformed questions is embarrassing, not a submission issue. Paul connects this to the Genesis creation order he already cited in 1 Corinthians 11. Only the judging prophecy view explains why the speaking in question relates to submission -- because evaluating prophecy is a leadership/authority function.
