00:08:36 – 00:09:39
Mike defines complementarianism and its spectrum.
Complementarians emphasize two sides: (1) men and women are equal in dignity as image bearers and co-heirs in Christ; (2) men and women have different roles. Minimally, all complementarians agree that in marriage and eldership/pastoral roles, leadership is reserved for men. There is a broad spectrum from soft to hard complementarians. They tend to emphasize both role differences and the stopping of abuse.
