Three areas of women's authority: (2) managing the household — 1 Timothy 5:14

Everything Women Can and Can't Do According to the Bible: Women in Ministry part 13 01:13:20 – 01:14:55

Mike identifies household management as a domain of women's authority.

1 Timothy 5:14: 'I would have younger widows marry, bear children, and manage their households.' The word 'manage' (oikodespoteo) comes from the same root as 'despot' — a person in charge. This is not cleaning the house; it's managing/running the house. The man has the final call based on Pillar 1, but he doesn't have the ONLY call. The wife is an authority in the home, not a nanny. The husband can be a 'tiebreaker' when they disagree after discussion, which seems biblical.
