Ushers involve directing men, answering questions (element of teaching), representing the church, and having some level of authority. But this is dramatically different from an elder's authoritative congregational teaching. Given that scripture shows women bosses, Deborah as judge, etc., an usher role is an easy case — nothing like eldership.
