Women in youth ministry: depends on whether the role functions as pastoral

Junior high is no problem. High school is tougher with seniors approaching adulthood. Mike suggests airing on the side of younger people for this mixed group. But the key question is: are you functioning as a pastor in your youth ministry? In Mike's experience, he functioned as a pastor in youth ministry, but children's ministry leaders often didn't carry that pastoral mantle. If a woman in youth ministry is more of a facilitator than a pastor, there's more flexibility.
