Schreiner's point 3: Eve called Adam's 'ezer' (helper) -- complementarians argue this implies subordination, but Mike finds the egalitarian rebuttal strong on this point.

The 'ezer' (helper) debate

Genesis 2:18 calls Eve a 'helper fit for him' (ezer kenegdo). Complementarians often argue 'helper' implies subordination. Mike notes the English word 'helper' doesn't inherently mean subordinate (e.g., a teacher helping a student), and the same is true for the Hebrew. He says complementarians tend to assume 'helper' means lesser authority, but this is where egalitarians have really strong arguments that changed his mind.
