Mike suggests Paul and Timothy had enough shared theological background that Paul could reference complex ideas briefly.
Mike argues that Paul and Timothy traveled together extensively, giving them shared theological vocabulary. 1 Timothy 3:16 demonstrates this: Paul lists rapid-fire theological statements ('manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among nations') without explanation — Timothy would have understood because of their shared background. Similarly, Paul may have used 'the childbearing' as shorthand for the Messianic promise from Genesis 3:15, knowing Timothy would understand without full elaboration. This is analogous to how spouses develop shorthand communication.
