Difficult v.15 should not overturn the clear teaching of vv.11-14

10:56:14 – 10:56:44
Mike states a key hermeneutical principle about how to handle verse 15.
Mike emphasizes that one's view on the difficult verse 15 should not change one's interpretation of the clearer verses 11-14. The claims egalitarians make should be evaluated based on vv.11-14, not leveraged through the ambiguity of v.15. Whatever v.15 means, it does not give leverage to reinterpret the clear restriction in v.12 or the clear creation-order reasoning in vv.13-14. The uncertain must not overturn the certain.
