Matthew 24:7-14 describes inter-advent period, not end-time

The wars, famines, earthquakes, and gospel preaching described in Matthew 24:7-14 have occurred throughout church history and are not unique signs pointing to an imminent end. Jesus is describing the general character of the age between his ascension and return, not specific triggering events.
