Johnson argues there are truths that are 'true' and truths that are 'more true.' Examples: the judgment of God is true, but the mercy of God is more true; sin is a reality, but love covers it — so love is more true. The punch line is: 'Anything that you know about the nature of God not seen in the person of Jesus is an inferior truth.' Mike argues this is theologically inaccurate — God's judgment and mercy are not competing truths in a hierarchy. God's judgment is fulfilled in every human being, either through Christ bearing it or through them receiving it. Justice and mercy meet in the cross; neither is superior.
