Mike's rebuttal to Mead's Revelation 6 interpretation: 'stars' in ancient cosmology means any light above us; 'sky as a scroll' has multiple possible readings

End of the World Predictions and Why They're Wrong 00:14:54 – 00:16:54

Mike unpacks what the text actually says and the interpretive range available.

In biblical cosmology, anything above the earth — meteors, asteroids, planets, stars — was called 'stars' (asteres). So 'stars falling' could refer to a meteor shower. 'Sky receding as a scroll' could mean ash clouds blocking the sky or a genuine atmospheric event; Mead's exclusive identification with a planetary near-collision is not supported by the text. Mike also notes that if a planet actually came near enough to cause these effects, all life on earth would likely be destroyed.
