David Mead's third Scripture abuse: Genesis 7:4 'seventeenth day of the second month' read as the year 2017

End of the World Predictions and Why They're Wrong 00:21:07 – 00:23:40

Mead takes Noah's ark entry date from Genesis 7 and treats it as a numerological code predicting the year 2017.

Genesis 7:4 records that Noah entered the ark on the 17th day of the 2nd month. Mead converts this to '2/17' or '2017' and claims it predicts the year of the rapture. Mike's critiques: (1) This is pure 'number magic' with no textual basis for the conversion; (2) Noah used a completely different calendar system, not our Gregorian calendar, and the Jewish calendar is also on a different year-numbering system; (3) The New Testament never uses Old Testament numbers this way; (4) Jesus's own 'as in the days of Noah' statement (which Mead cites) is about the unexpected nature of judgment, not about extracting date codes from the flood narrative.
