Harold Camping and Family Radio: background, personal history, and two early warning signs of bad theology

End of the World Predictions and Why They're Wrong 00:24:41 – 00:27:16

Mike transitions to Harold Camping, whom he personally listened to as a teenager on AM radio. He shares two statements Camping made that first lost his trust.

Family Radio was broadcast on many AM radio stations worldwide. Camping made two notably problematic statements: (1) 'Nobody was saved in the 1980s' — that the Holy Spirit stopped saving people for roughly two decades (roughly 1970s to 1994); (2) 'True believers agree on all doctrine' — that genuine faith produces doctrinal unanimity. Mike found both claims absurd and stopped listening. He had not yet realized Camping was heading toward a global false end-times prediction.
