The real message of the Second Coming in Scripture is: 'Be ready at all times because this world is temporary and what is permanent is on its way.' Live for what is eternal; don't compromise your walk with Christ. The expected response is not doomsday prepping or date-calculating but ongoing spiritual faithfulness. Mike explicitly says Christians are not called to be 'doomsday preppers,' though he allows that some practical preparedness can be wise if kept in proper perspective.
