Tip 7: Take practical steps — lofty goals require specific, actionable commitments
Seventh and final tip. Mike insists that all the prior steps require concrete behavioral change to produce results.
Mike illustrates with specific examples: a husband sets a goal to never raise his voice at his wife; a young person commits to not talking back to parents and holding their tongue when frustrated; an employee commits to always arriving on time, which requires going to bed earlier. He frames the chain of causation explicitly: arriving on time requires waking earlier, which requires sleeping earlier. You cannot change without actually changing.
