Craig Keener says Eve's subordination is part of the curse and 'like other aspects of the curse -- labor pains, toil, sin, death -- does not need to be praised and enforced by church rules.' Philip Payne says since Satan has been cast down and Christ has begun the new creation, 'life in Christ's kingdom should not perpetuate the curse of the fall.'
