Saving faith is not mere intellectual belief — it is living faith that results in works
Defining saving faith vs. intellectual assent
Real saving faith is distinguished from mere intellectual assent. Intellectual assent (knowing God exists, assenting to doctrinal propositions) is not enough — even demons have that. Saving faith is living faith that actively engages with God and results in a transformed life. Works don't turn dead faith into saving faith; they result from saving faith.
