1 Corinthians 3:14-15: rewards or loss, not purgatorial suffering — salvation is never in question
Exegesis of the closing verses of the passage
v. 14: if work endures, the minister receives a reward. v. 15: if work is burned, the minister 'suffers loss' — but he himself is saved. The key phrasing: 'he will suffer loss' not 'he will suffer.' Salvation is not at stake at all. The person is the same before and after; only what rewards they receive changes.
