Complementarian vs. egalitarian views on women's roles summarized

Women Leaders in the New Testament: Women in Ministry part 4 00:02:08 – 00:03:10

Mike recaps the two major positions before diving into the evidence.

Complementarian view: women were in all sorts of roles but not the elder or apostle role; the explicit NT teaching is that women don't qualify for eldership requirements, which is where institutional teaching authority resides. Egalitarian view: the NT has been completely misread, women filled the highest possible roles, and were only later excluded due to surrounding patriarchal cultures.
