Matthew 24:1-3 — disciples explicitly ask about the end of the age, confirming the larger scope
Mike turns to Matthew 24 and highlights what Matthew adds to the parallel accounts.
Same setting (temple, destruction prediction), but Matthew's version of the disciples' question is explicit: 'what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?' (v.3). This confirms what Mark and Luke only implied — the disciples were asking about more than AD 70. The mention of the end of the age itself implies a very long horizon, not an imminent return. Mike notes Matthew 24 largely repeats Mark's content (abomination of desolation, tribulation, no one knows the day), so he focuses on what is unique.
