Belleville's argument from Paul's public appeal: if they weren't leaders, no need for third-party intervention

Women Leaders in the New Testament: Women in Ministry part 4 00:29:34 – 00:31:06

Mike evaluates Belleville's second argument for Euodia/Syntyche's leadership.

Belleville argues that Paul wouldn't need to make a public appeal to a third party to help these women if they weren't leaders. Mike counters: it seems even more likely that if they were leaders, Paul wouldn't appeal to someone else to help change their behavior -- that would be demeaning to leaders. A church leader would be addressed directly about their conduct.
