Can evidences make someone stop being a Christian? Sye argues if you were converted by evidence, evidence could un-convert you — showing Christ was never Lord of your reasoning

Does Presup Apologetics Have a Biblical Foundation? Mike Winger vs Sye Ten Bruggencate 01:22:18 – 01:25:22

Sye's epistemological test for true faith

Sye argues that if a person could be persuaded by evidence to abandon Christianity (e.g., 'if they found the bones of Jesus'), it reveals they still hold their own reasoning as the judge over truth — Christ is not Lord of their reasoning. Winger says he would not be convinced by that because he believes the resurrection happened and no evidence could overturn it — not because evidence is irrelevant but because reality is fixed. Sye points out they actually agree on this: the resurrection is epistemically certain — which is the presuppositional starting point.
