Zahnd's claim that 'Jesus is the only perfect theology' and 'the Bible is not the perfect revelation of God' mirrors Bill Johnson's framework

Brian Zahnd's False Gospel and Fake Jesus 00:54:50 – 00:57:22

Winger reads Zahnd's explicit statements from pages 14 and 30 of the book about the relationship between Jesus and Scripture.

Zahnd writes: 'The Bible is not the perfect revelation of God. Jesus is. Jesus is the only perfect theology.' He also writes: 'It is theologically immoral to allow anything — any revelation about God that contradicts what you see in the person of Jesus — to trump your concept of what God is like.' Winger identifies this language as nearly identical to Bill Johnson's teaching ('Perfect theology is the life that Jesus lived'). The framework appears designed to sound like a high Christology but functions as a low bibliology — using 'Jesus' as a trump card to override scriptural texts that contradict the teacher's preferred theology. The problem: even the Jesus of the Gospels is mediated to us through Scripture, so if you edit the Bible, you inevitably also edit Jesus. The Jesus who remains after the editing process turns out to look exactly like the teacher himself.
