Is homosexuality genetic? Even if it were, it wouldn't change the Christian call to self-denial

Lauren Daigle and the Homosexuality Question 00:48:41 – 00:50:13

Q&A question about whether homosexuality has a genetic component and what its presence in the animal kingdom implies.

Winger says the research he reviewed suggests if there is a genetic factor, it is minimal. But more importantly, from a Christian worldview, a genetic predisposition toward a sin does not make that sin permissible. Every Christian is called to deny themselves and follow Christ — 'I was born wanting that sin' is not an exemption. He also dismisses the animal kingdom argument: animals practice cannibalism and infanticide; their behavior is not normative for humans.
